What a Natural Salt Lamp Actually Is
A natural salt lamp is a single rough crystal of Himalayan rock salt, hollowed to hold a bulb and mounted on a wooden base. Nothing about its shape is manufactured — the profile you see is the profile the mountain made 250 million years ago. That is why no two lamps are identical, and why the category has stayed popular for decades: each piece is genuinely one of a kind.
When lit, the crystal glows from amber to deep orange depending on the mineral content of the seam it came from. Pink grades give the classic warm glow; rarer white crystal burns brighter, and gray grades produce a moodier, darker tone.
How Our Lamps Are Made
At Warcha, miners bring out crystal by hand using room-and-pillar methods. At Hamdani Salt Factory each rock is weighed, graded by color and clarity, drilled for the bulb cavity, and fitted to a wooden base. Quality control checks weight class, stability, and finish before packing — the calipers in our QC photos are not for show.
Lamps from 1.5 kg to 7 kg pack in printed unit boxes inside master cartons (our AGNSL-0014 to 0017 codes). From 7 kg upward, each lamp is individually wrapped, and from 10 kg a wooden base is standard. Show-piece lamps above 160 kg ship on wooden tables built in our own workshop.
How to Judge Quality as a Buyer
Ask three questions. First, is the weight class honest? A "2–3 kg" lamp should average near the middle of the band across a carton, not the bottom. Second, is the base hardwood and properly screwed, not glued softwood? Third, does the exporter hold food-grade certifications? A factory that passes Halal, Kosher, and laboratory audits for edible salt applies the same discipline to lamps.
What to Specify in a Wholesale Order
Specify weight bands and quantities per band, crystal grade (pink, white, gray), base type, cord and bulb standard for your market (CE, UL, SAA), and packaging: our stock unit boxes, your private-label boxes, or bulk wrap. A 20ft container holds roughly 2,400–2,800 boxed lamps in mixed weight bands — ask us to model the load for your mix.
